Hi, I’m Nikki C.E.S

I’m a San Fernando Valley girl, writer, photographer, sunset chaser, and self-proclaimed old soul who loves turning everyday places and memories into stories.

ValleyGurl Writes is where I get to combine the things I love most: writing, storytelling, photography, nostalgia, and the place I call home. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley has given me a unique appreciation for the little things that make the Valley what it is ; the neighborhoods, palm trees, strip malls, mountains, sunsets, local businesses, familiar streets, and all the memories attached to them.

Here, you’ll find stories about Valley life, Southern California, nostalgia, entertainment, local places, travel, everyday experiences, and the people and things that make a place feel like home. Sometimes I’ll be sharing a personal story, sometimes I’ll be exploring something happening around the Valley, and sometimes I’ll simply be chasing a good sunset with my camera.

Writing has always been something I’ve wanted to pursue, and ValleyGurl Writes is part of that journey. I’m building my voice as a writer and storyteller while exploring the worlds of journalism, digital media, content writing, and photography.

At the heart of it all, I just love a good story, especially when it makes you feel something, brings back a memory, or makes you look at a familiar place a little differently.
