November… what are your thoughts about November? November is that type of month where we are just getting over spooky season but starting to get ready for the busiest time of the year. November is Thanksgiving for the USA which is always the last Thursday of the month. We eat a lot of food and get together with family. It’s followed by the most popular holiday of the year, which is Christmas Eve and Day. Then we gave New Years Eve and Day a week after Christmas. It’s all very much exhausting but fun because there’s a lot to do and we are not bored. I personally have many birthdays around me around this time of year along with the holidays so it’s going to be once again, a crazy busy time.
Let’s get into what’s happening in November 2026 in the San Fernando Valley and the vicinity of it.
November 7th
– From 3pm-5pm, enjoy a nice concert at Cal State University Northridge. It’s called the CSUN Wind Symphony. Tickets are listed at $10-$22 plus a fee. It’s at the Plaza del Sol Performance Hall, Northridge. https://news.csun.edu/events/venues/category/thesoraya/?utm_source=chatgpt.com
– At 11am, enjoy some fun at the Justin Agulia Memorial Chili Cook-Off and Trunk or Treat. This is a fun community gathering combining a chili cook off and a family friendly fall activity this November. It’s a fun possibility if you’re looking for something local after Halloween but before Thanksgiving. https://sfvlocal.com/events/e/2nd-annual-justin-agulia-memorial-chili-cook-off-and-trunk-or-treat-b61569
November 12th
– From 10am-noon, we have a Bird Sit and Nature Journaling at the O’ Melveny Park in Granada Hills, CA. This event is great for nature lovers and writers. Slow down and observe nature in a relaxed way and enjoy it all. https://sfvaudubon.org/event/a-bird-sit-with-nature-journaling-postponed-2-2/2026-11-12/
November 7th, 12th, and 14th

Thanksgiving Week: November 22nd-30th
November 22nd
– On Sunday November 22nd, the Toluca lake Turkey trot festival happens on this day With activities, vendors and a community 5K.
November 26th
– on actual Thanksgiving look for local Turkey trots come on charity community meals and volunteer opportunities. There’s many of them in Los Angeles including the drumstick dash LA in North Hollywood.
November 27th-29th
– In my opinion, look for post-Thanksgiving shopping, Black Friday Deals and events, seasonal markets and start of the holiday season for valley things to do.
MISC:
Other fun things to do in the month of November are Brewery Bingo and trivia nights. Lawless Brewing Co in North Hollywood has their recurring bingo and trivia events. That’s a great option for a casual weeknight with friends or family. https://sfvlocal.com/events/
