Warner Center Park vs. Serrania Park, both located in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

If you’re from the Valley, you already know—parks are kind of our thing.

Whether it’s for walking, photography, relaxing, or just being around dogs (my personal favorite), there’s something about a safe, well-kept, scenic park that just resets everything.

So why am I talking about these two?

Because they’re easily in my top parks in the Valley.

My Top Valley Parks (so far 👀)

  • Warner Center Park
  • Serrania Park
  • Lake Calabasas Park
  • Viking Park
  • Holleigh Bernson Memorial Park (11200-11299 Porter Ranch Rd) or Porter Ranch community Park

🌆 Warner Center Park:

This is that park. The one that feels like the center of everything.

What makes it stand out:

  • Huge shady trees that people actually sit under (and yes, the squirrels are basically residents at this point)
  • Summer concerts and events hosted by the Valley Cultural Foundation
  • A dedicated kids’ play area with swings and slides
  • Workout stations if you’re feeling productive
  • Tons of benches for relaxing, eating, or people-watching
  • A full loop sidewalk—perfect for walks, runs, or just clearing your head
  • Occasional food trucks and coffee trucks (which honestly just elevates everything)

The layout is simple—a big rectangular loop—but it works. It’s one of those places where you can walk laps and not get bored.

And visually? It’s such a vibe. You’ve got city buildings surrounding the park, giving it that clean, modern Valley aesthetic. I’ve even done photoshoots here—it’s that good.

If you’re in the West Valley and want a park that feels lively but still relaxing, this is it.And yes—dogs are always welcome.

🌿 Serrania Park:

This one is completely different—and that’s why I love it just as much.

Serrania Park feels like a hidden gem.

  • Wide open grass + lots of trees = the perfect balance
  • A low-key, unofficial dog park vibe where dogs actually roam and play together
  • A strong sense of community—you start recognizing the same people and dogs
  • Walking paths around the park, similar to Warner Center
  • A hiking trail if you want a little more adventure
  • Beautiful flowers along the perimeter (perfect for photos 📸)
  • A small playground and bathrooms available

But the real magic and love?

The dogs!

This park is all about them. Watching dogs run, play, and socialize while their humans relax or chat—it’s such a feel-good environment.

This place honestly played a role in inspiring my photography journey—and eventually the start of NCES Media.

And it’s not just dogs:

  • We’ve spotted parrots in the trees
  • A gopher that randomly pops up (which is hilarious when dogs notice it 😭)

It’s peaceful, a little tucked away, and just feels more personal.

🌞 Final Thoughts

These two parks are tied for me—but for completely different reasons:

  • Warner Center Park = beauty, energy, events, and that polished city feel
  • Serrania Park = nature, dogs, community, and a hidden, local vibe

Both are worth going to, and depending on your mood, you’ll probably rotate between them like I do.

If you’re a Valley local (or just visiting), you honestly can’t go wrong with either.
